Grammy-winning musical prodigy Jacob Collier went viral in the early 2010’s with his bombastic, a-cappella YouTube covers of classic songs, and has since shared his gifts through interactive performances around the world. Collier is known for his virtuosic mastery of almost every imaginable instrument, his expansive theoretical knowledge, and the maximalist style of his musical arrangements. His compositions are packed with dense harmonies and sporadic dynamic shifts, and he’s been lauded by the likes of Quincy Jones, Herbie Hancock, Pharrell, and Hans Zimmer. Collier represents the very furthest limits of the autodidact generation, with his endless hunger for new knowledge and skills.
Despite his many accomplishments, Collier maintains an inclusive attitude toward music, seeking meaningful collective experiences over fame and self aggrandizement. His most recent four-album series, Djesse, hosts a cast of guest artists with diverse musical backgrounds, and he uses his growing platform to spread the love of music.
